Triple Warmer and Fascia
The Triple Warmer Channel and the Fascia
The triple warmer can be seen as a system that communicates throughout the body. It relies on sufficient fluids, signals. nutrition, and balance to keep them moving, and its primary function is communication and protection of the body from the exterior. It has been associated with the function of the fascial system, communicating message throughout the body, the passage of nerve signals, fluids, lymph and blood.
Treating the Fascia with Gua Sha
The initial reaction the the fascial system was to 'break down' the fascial constriction and so the war on fascial begun. Healthy fascia is supple, flexible, and it glides.
With current research, we are understanding that the fascia needs to be warmed and liquefied. Pressure and heat are the most effective way to do this.
Treatment to induce sweating
Sha appears quickly and easily on areas with pathogens, so you can start to see sha within the first 10-15 strokes. You should be finished at about 30 strokes
1. Start stroking starting at the DU 14 outwards along the trapezius muscle. This area of the body is where all of the yang meridians converge, so it is a great opportunity to stimulate or release heat.
Once the sha is no longer increasing, you can move on to the next area
2. Gua Sha on the Triple Warmer meridian from the base of the neck, to the hand. Focus on the forearm, from the elbow to the hand
